No sleep ´til HELLsinki.

Wasn´t that sure if I was going to make it to Finland at all, but after the gig in Stockholm friday night, I stayed in the city, jumped on the first bus to the airport in the morning (3.45AM. Gaahhh) and just took off. Slept a few hours at my brother´s house and went to the club quite early. We had a few beers and waited for the Japanese guys to show up.

It was really happy to meet them again (ohh Ryooooo!!!) so the trip was worth all the pain and misery;) The gig was GREAT!! The crowd didn´t want to let them off the stage so after many extra songs they also played a couple of brand new ones from the upcoming album. The PRKL Club stage was small and very dark (I always say that? But it´s always true.), I didn´t bring my flash and I only stayed at one side of the stage. I also got some crappy vids and realized once more that it´s not a great idea to stay too close to the speakers when filming. Still I love the clips:)

Many thanks to the nice staff at PRKL Club and to my brother Jarmo and his gf Niina for having me!!
Hope it´s not going to take some 20 years again…;) Hoping to catch up with COFFINS in Tokyo later this year and heard there´s already plans for gathering some great bands in october:D

Photo shoot with SERPENT OBSCENE ( 1997 – 2006) in April 2005. Shot the outdoor pics at an old (abandoned) tuberculosis hospital and some sandpits. For the indoor shots we occupied the local youth centre. We also used their smoke machine…
Additional note: The pizzaplace where we went for lunch made pentagrams in bearnaise on the pizzas m/.
One of the smoky pics ended up on the album “Chaos Reign Supreme” (cover art made by the great Joe Petagno) and the whatever pics on the album are also by me.
The band split up after releasing the album and I´m still not over it!!

I also got “Bitterness” with “Death Unfolds” (demo ´90) & “Visions” (demo ´91) as bonus. Great stuff indeed!!:)) The CD version of “Counting Our Scars” HERE.

Sebastian (Rojas) in TERMINAL PROSPECT contacted me for a few months ago and we started talking about finding a date for a photo shoot.
We had already booked a day in November last year, but for the first time I had to cancel due to my trip to Japan. But we made it finally and had a fun afternoon at their rehearsal studio and the nearby surroundings. Of course with food and coffee breaks!!
The guys were great fun to work with so it was a good day:) No albums yet, only a few “Making of…” pics. Some by me and some by my wonderful assistant Johanna.

Some misc. pics from the latest M.M.I. shoot at Trappers MC headquarters in Gnesta. The very first photo shoot of  2012. We all had a really pleasant stay there (and free coffee!!), so thanks a lot to our hosts:) And I loved all the Harleys…
I´ve been working with the band many times before, but now there´s a completely new line-up: Jimmy Bergman – guitar, Zoomlander (Pontus!!!) – bass, Berget – vocals/guitar and Bennich – drums.
The former bass player Nail also dropped by to check things out.

This was a very special event for me!! At last I got to see my friend Akira´s band SOLITUDE live on stage and also meet his bandmates. Takuro & Mats from Spiritual Beast were there also. Really nice to see them!:) The venue was kinda small but omfg how great the sound was! Perfection!! And so was the SOLITUDE gig! 90-something minutes and not one dull second. The guys were fantastic and so much fun to watch:) The bass player Toru had hurt his leg and was really in pain, but he played the long set like it was nothing. A true Metal hero!!:) And Akira…oh wow, he´s an amazing frontman. He used to do the vocals in SACRIFICE (Jap) and at some point they played the intro to “Friday Nightmare”. Everybody went crazy:) So happy I got the opportunity to be there. And I´d be even happier if they could put together an European tour soon!! The latest CD is released in Europe by Fastball so go & check it out! Of course I took lots of pics and almost every one of them are in the gallery;) Missed the band thanking the audience, because my memorycard was full…haha:)

  SOLITUDE Line-up:Akira Sugiuchi (ex-SACRIFICE) – Vocals .. Shingo Ida – Guitar .. Toru Nishida (ex-SACRIFICE) – Bass .. Takamasa “MAD” Ohuchi – Drums

I´ve wanted to see COFFINS for I don´t know how long!!
I had already decided to go and see some other bands this evening but when I saw that COFFINS had a gig at the Death Fest, I changed the plans, mailed the band & organizer if I could come over and take some photos.
Everything worked out fine and later on the band asked me also to take some promo pics (which will follow shortly). Of course I agreed:)
Had a great time with the guys and the gig was SICK!!:)) Total mayhem in a really small venue (Koiwa Bush Bash). Loved it!! Real brutal underground! The line up has changed some and right now it´s a 4 piece. Bungo Uchino on guitar, Koreeda on bass, the used-to-be drummer Ryo in vocals and the new guy Satoshi on drums. Got some cd:s and a t-shirt as a present and I even bought the first album on vinyl and got it signed. The photos are…ehmm…also real underground;))
