I had two bands of interest at this years Loud Park festival and the first and main one, KING DIAMOND (also the reason I was about to visit the festival this year), got cancelled:/ We were supposed to hang out a few days before  Loud Park and I was already in Tokyo when I got the message from Livia. All the KD stage gear being on a boat which got stuck in some Chinese harbour due to terrible weather, and couldn´t make it in time for the festival.  So the KD show got cancelled in last minute when they were supposed to leave for the airport.  A couple of guys from the band/crew already left so they at least got to have some days in Tokyo.

 

The second band of interest, ENFORCER, were great, tho!!! Awesome performance infront of a huge cheering crowd. They also got great reviews and response after the gig. Really happy for them! Well deserved!:))

The Loud Park festival is the biggest metal happening in Japan with mostly bands which are frequenting our part of the world. I did see SLAYER and ROB ZOMBIE there a couple of years earlier, tho, but mostly it has been fun just to hang around and see how tings are done at a huge Japanese indoor festival. Extremely organized:)))
Besides the gig, there were also a nice LP afterparty at From Dusk Till Dawn bar in Kabukicho,Shinjuku. Conviniently very close to where I was staying, but it was still a bit of a struggle to find the way late at night, not totally sober:)) So many small alleys in the neighborhood.

The day before we had a day out with BEHEMOTH (Nergal, Orion, Michael from Season of Mist & some of the crew. Pumpkin & Bunny ftw!!) with shopping,  dinner and some beers & shots at the  Train Bar in Roppongi. One of the days I also went to Yokohama to see Ryo´s (COFFINS) doom band  GUEVNNA  and  met up with all the COFFINS guys at Tama Center in Tokyo where they played an afternoon outdoor gig. Good times:))
So quite a lot of metal stuff anyways on this trip. And  I do love Japan & Tokyo, so time there is never wasted!

Ryo (COFFINS. Very soon to be ex-COFFINS;() with his band GUEVNNA played at a small club in Yokohama and we (me and Ester S.) went there to check things out. GUEVNNA has recorded a split with the French band AGUIRRE and hopefully we´ll see both bands somewhere in Europe during 2014.  Hope somebody books them to Stockholm.   They´re really good! Like Roadburn-good:))

And so it happened that COFFINS had a small gig outdoors the day after I arrived to Tokyo. So I went there, of course. Probably the last time ever I could see the band with Ryo (vocals), because he´s quitting the band after the Japan tour with NOOTHGRUSH first days in November. Pretty sad I think, but hopefully he can take his other band GUEVNNA on the European roads next year. (Saw them also on this trip (pics HERE) and they´re really good!)
Anyway, enjoyed the day out in Tama Center (the home of HELLO KITTY!;)) and went for some decent kaiten zushi with the guys before leaving the suburbs.

Edit en timme senare: Anna Norberg heter tjejen i klippet “Horses In The Ground”. Tack Pontus!!
Älskar “Sister” och live var det vackert, stökigt och hemskt. Antagligen den bästa spelningen jag sett med In Solitude. Filmade “Horses In The Ground” som på skivan gästas av Jarboe (ex-Swans) och på giget av  Anna Norberg.

Ett nytt band att gilla!!! Helt underbar spelning på detta hemliga ställe packat med ett begränsat antal inviterade. Vet inte så mycket om bandet ännu, men dom spelar “riksväg space rock”. Vissa låtar gör sig tydligen bäst på skogsvägar:) Gitarristen Linus är även med i REVEAL. Filmade en låt som finns med här under! “Loggan” är hittepå bara för denna blogg för hittade inget officciellt från dom på nätet.

381262Bästa bästa GOATESS!!! När jag såg dom förra året så var det på deras första spelning nånsin och den bästa debutspelningen jag nånsin sett. Efter den gången har dom blivit signade på Svart Records, släppt plattan och kammat hem en hel drös med fantastiska recensioner från hela världen (översättningarna med Bing & Google har varit guld även dom!:P) Hela nya plattan live från början till slut plus en helt ny låt. Skitbra spelning med lite tillhörande elavbrott och andra roligheter. Filmade lite samtidigt när jag försökte ta bilder så resultatet blev…nja…intressant:) Samlade verk finns att beskåda längre ner på sidan.
