GRÀ played first of four bands and had to start very early but there were already some crowd. Very good start of the great evening to be!! Got some band/backstage pics on them also but I have to sort out them a bit later. A couple of them can be found at extremmetal.se on FB.
“The quintessential subject of “Grá” lies at the edge of this existence, at the borders of “life”. The necessity, beauty and significance of Death.”

AEON, also from the Northern parts of Sweden, have been around since 1999.
WIKI: According to Allmusic, Aeon plays “uncommonly intense, technically proficient, high-velocity brand of death metal”. The latest album ”Aeons Black” is getting great reviews in the media. Don´t have it yet, need to do something about it:) (Wrote this in November and the album got out recently;))

No sleep ´til HELLsinki.

Wasn´t that sure if I was going to make it to Finland at all, but after the gig in Stockholm friday night, I stayed in the city, jumped on the first bus to the airport in the morning (3.45AM. Gaahhh) and just took off. Slept a few hours at my brother´s house and went to the club quite early. We had a few beers and waited for the Japanese guys to show up.

It was really happy to meet them again (ohh Ryooooo!!!) so the trip was worth all the pain and misery;) The gig was GREAT!! The crowd didn´t want to let them off the stage so after many extra songs they also played a couple of brand new ones from the upcoming album. The PRKL Club stage was small and very dark (I always say that? But it´s always true.), I didn´t bring my flash and I only stayed at one side of the stage. I also got some crappy vids and realized once more that it´s not a great idea to stay too close to the speakers when filming. Still I love the clips:)

Many thanks to the nice staff at PRKL Club and to my brother Jarmo and his gf Niina for having me!!
Hope it´s not going to take some 20 years again…;) Hoping to catch up with COFFINS in Tokyo later this year and heard there´s already plans for gathering some great bands in october:D

PORTRAIT!! The last amazing band on this fabulous evening.

Wanted to see them live for so long and they should have played on the last SR Cruise, but something happened and they didn´t. Oh well….ENFORCER played instead, so it worked out fine. Both Richard and Christian from the band were on the boat as always. Christian in the merch shop and Richard…dunno if he had any specific function on this trip. Else than being my cabin mate:) Nice  guys! Anyway, the gig was even better than I expected. Lots of action, great songs and really cool vocalist. Nalen Klubb is a small venue but has one of the best sound guys in town. I think it sounds really good every time I´m there. Can´t say the same of all the venues here. And thinking of all the small clubs I´ve been to over the years…

I´m sometimes whining about the state of things in Sweden and Stockholm, but this is still a fukken great place to live in and get spoiled with all these great gigs. Especially these days when we are blessed with the Püssy a Go Go crew. I love you!! I do!!:D

The hard part this night was to stay awake all night and take the plane to Finland early in the morning. But that also worked out fine. Good life:))

PORTRAIT are:Per Karlsson – vocals, Christian Lindell – guitar, Richard Lagergren – guitar, David Olofsson – bass. Anders Persson – drums

NECROCURSE – the “Death Metal Rebels from Uddevalla” (Hellbutcher (Nifelheim) – vocals, Stefan “Rotting” Rodin – guitar, Martin “Märda” Andersson – guitar, Johan “Basstard” Bäckman – bass and Nicklas “Terror” Rudolfsson – drums) next on stage and the evening continues with some really heavy stuff. Pelle Hellbutcher is a great vocalist even in death metal and the band was impressive. I´m very happy I got to see them!! Hellbutcher also gave me one of the cool t-shirts so I was properly dressed at the Coffins gig in Helsinki the night after:) The pics are (once again) necro and old school.

One of the greatest bands on earth and not that common to see on a stage in Stockholm!!

Some enthusiast poured  beer on my camera when the band entered the stage so had to dry the lens a bit with my sleeve (I do have a filter on it, of course. I don´t use sleeves on the optics. Mostly:). Still I got some of it left in the viewfinder. Haha fukken metalheads:) ❤ Fantastic gig and (ofc) the pics got a nice retro feeling.

Very much like the ones I always ended up with back in 2005 at Tantogården shooting with my very first DSLR (Canon 20D, 18-55 kit lens;). In which case, here you go.

The first time ever I got to see VULCANO live!!  Great show and lots of people.  GK should invest in some air condition, tho.

I always wake up with a headache after being to the venue. And it´s NOT because of the beer and smoking:) Anyway, big thanks to HELLBUTCHER for inviting me (or maybe I invited myself, haha?). He requested lots of VULCANO pics, so I did my best. Difficult lights, the kind that makes all the colors bleed, but it sometimes comes with the territory. Just have to deal with it:)

VULCANO line up: Zhema Rodero- Guitars. Arthur Von Barbarian- Drums, Luiz Carlos Louzada- Vocals, Carlos Diaz- Bass, Fernando Nonath- Guitars
