HAIL CONJURER is a one man band even on stage, but still lots of sound. No live guys, just Harri Kuokkanen who is a very productive person with quite a lot of different stuff going on. Been checkin him out afterwards and so far the -22 album “Earth Penetration” is the coolest.
Not heard everything yet, tho.

Black metal from Colombia. Founded 1994 as “Dies Irae”, change of name to Utuk-Xul in 1997. So far a demo in -07, 5 full lengths, a bunch of splits and a compilation.

Can´t find som much info of these guys but there´s a link to an interview with Rauta somewhere below↓
Great gig, tho, and they had their fans for sure. Inferus Vobyscum had a great voice and the guitarist Nibras was one of the most photogenic ones at the festival.
The bassplayer made a LOT of promotion for “Utuk-Xul” coffee that was sold in the merch:))  Colombian coffee of course.

Great gig and the new album is really good! Would most definitely go & see live again. Quite a few Norwegian bands at Steelfest. All of them awesome!

“Black Metal band from Mänttä, Finland, founded in 1992 by Satanachia (Miika Ojala) and Samiaza (Niko Niemelä). The band made only two recording in the 1990’s and was largely inactive for many years, not releasing anything between 1996 and 2011. My second year at Steelfest and AZAZEL playing as first band on the outdoor stage both times. Hope they do even next year. Seems like a good tradition:)  Dunno if they´ve been there every year but at least many times. And no, the 2017 Steelfest has not been repeated even tho alcohol is obviously a part of the whole AZAZEL thingy. They have actually been pretty good live and I  like the latest album “Aegrum Satanas Tecum” quite a bit.

– Mavrofos and Lucifuge Rofocale also performed in RIENAUS at the festival
– The 2020 edition of Steelchaos was streamed with all the bands at the venue but no crowd. Lord Satanachia got sick but they didn´t want to cancel, so he was doing his part from home when the rest of the band was at the venue playing on stage. Lord Satanachia commenting:
“We all saw the situation differently in the band but I didn’t think it was a good idea to be sick in a place where there were a bit more people anyway, and even though the gig was virtual, there was still an audience and, of course, staff. I belong to a risk group so my first thought was just to cancel the show. Then our drummer, Idimmu, had this sick idea that what if we pull the gig anyway having me singing at home, and them playing at the venue. So we made some very special adjustments and pulled it through. It was a good thing even though I was a bit wasted that time, as well. Azazel does what Azazel wants” – Interview for chaoszine.net

Senast CHURCH OF MISERY var i stan (2014)  gjorde dom en hysterisk bra spelning på P.A.G.G. i Liffys källare. Så hade rätt höga förväntningar. Svinbra spelning!!! Kommer nog alltid att ha åsikter om den sista kvarvarande Debasern men ibland funkar den finfint som denna kväll. Bra ljud och tom ok ljus utan rök till överdrifter, som ofta har varit fallet.
I vanlig ordning som ofta med Japanska turnerande band var i princip hela lineupen utbytt. Förutom Tatsu såklart.

NILE första gången på en massa år och så jävla bra det var!
Man hamnar inte i Uppsala på gigs hur som helst men tack vare Joakim R. (Desolator,Within The Fall) och hans eminenta polare som hjälpte till med logistiken (tack som fan!), så blev det ett besök.
Najs ställe, bra folk (halva Uppsala eliten + Kungen av Åland var ju där så hängde med dom lite av & till) och träffade Evelina som driver EveR Vision Art. Turnémanagern hade jag också sprungit på ett antal gånger tidigare genom åren och hann tjöta lite med honom också. Bra kväll! Både publiken och bandet levererade och Sanders & co verkade va på riktigt gott humör:) Möjligt att det blir nån till bild i galleriet senare.

Mitt 15e MARDUK gig och ett av dom bästa.

Såg mesta giget uppe på ena scenkanten med lite bra folk och bara uppskattade manglet. Ser redan framemot att se dom igen på Steelfest i maj!!

Den Finska festen är för övrigt ett av det bästa som existerar just nu i den här överkänsliga världen så inte för sent ännu att bestämma sig för den:) En bra chans att komma undan all bullshit en stund.
