The very best way to enjoy HEXVESSEL is lying flat in the grass under the Transylvanian sky, with a Ciuc Radler . Johanna fell in love with that beer-related stuff and I let her illustrate the state we were in during the concert. >>
I almost missed the whole thing when DORDEDUH (Hupogrammos & Sol Faur started this band after they left Negura Bunget) played an unannounced 2-song-set on the second day at the DBE.
Luckily I got there in time to hear at least one half of the second song and take some fast shots. The songs were from the new album, and the day after the band and Costin (Chioreanu, Twilight13 Productions) left the hotel really early in the morning to go to the mountains and shoot the video for “Dojana“. You´ll find the result at the bottom of this post. Some other great stuff also. Hope to see them soon again!

Doru at the Dark Bombastic is a master when it comes to make these festivals to an experience of a lifetime. DARK BUDDHA RISING was one of those experiences. Very dark, very intense, very hypnotic and very, very beautiful. I wanted to kick everybody who wanted to talk to me during the awesomeness (sorry;)).

The only thing I knew about LANTLÔS before DBE was that it was some project by Neige (Alcest) and Herbst. And listened to some of the songs I had on my DBE playlist.
However, Neige isn´t in the band anymore (he was standing in the crowd watching:)). Really cool gig and first ever live performance with the band who was only supposed to be a studio project to begin with. Enjoyed it a lot! Most of it ofc sitting in the grass, drinking beer and loving my life in general. Took some photos, tho:)
The band (every band, really) stayed at the same hotel than me so got to hang a bit with some old & new friends. This Herbst guy was really nice when we spent some time in the lobby smoking and talking shit.

One of the last year´s highlights, ALCEST, back at the Dark Bombastic grounds in Alba Iulia. Very beautiful, very enjoyable. Neige is a genious, as you know;) (The drummer plays also in Peste Noire!!)

Bonfire night on thursday, friday being the first real festival day at this magical place.
ISOLE from Sweden on stage, now with the most handsome bearded guy Jimmy Matsson (Loch Vostok) on bass;)) (The rest of the guys are also in Ereb Altor).
As many times before, I needed to get abroad to see a band from the neighborhood (Gävle is close enough:)) live for the first time. It almost happened at the Getaway Festival just a month earlier. Just that I got there just in time to hear the very last tones.

The summer festival season is now officially over for me ;( and I got shitloads of pics to sort out (still even from gigs before the festivals). Which, of course, is going to take a while. Or a bit longer…DBE 4 was the greatest possible finale, tho:))
ORANSSI PAZUZU live was a mindblowing experience. One of the best ever! Even when they played before the sunset and all the cool lights were pretty much for no use. They just brought their own darkness to the stage and it totally worked. Such a freakin´good gig!!

DBE was easily one of the nicest experiences in my life when it comes to festivals and events, and I´m really happy I got the opportunity to be there. Besides the music and all the people, the highlight for me was to see Costin´s (Chioreanu, Twilight13 Media) art exhibition “Where The Purgatory Ends”. Dark and beautiful artwork with a specially written soundtrack playing in the background (the music was made in co-operation with Rune (Blasphemer from Aura Noir, Ava Inferi & Mayhem) and some other musicians). If you live in Helsinki, don´t miss it at the Mega Therion Festival 28-29th of October!!!
It was also a pleasure to meet Doru, the organizer, who also helped me with some practical stuff like hotelbookings, accreditations & such. A really nice and helpful guy who made all of this happen.
It will be a 4th Edition in 2012 so I think you should concider making a trip to Romania and visit DBE. And while at it, try to see more of this crazy beautiful country aswell:) I´m lucky enough having some great friends over there, so I got myself a fantastic tour crisscrossing Transylvania. Hopefully there will be a new Romanian tour next year! I´m sure there´s a new plan coming up soon;))Some links:
